Crypto Gaming Handheld Shipments Delayed Over ’Excessive’ Import Duties
Buyers of the SuiPlay0X1, a $599 crypto gaming handheld developed by Mysten Labs, are facing unexpected import duties—some as high as $350. The company has temporarily suspended shipments while it assesses the fee structure, citing its near-cost pricing model as reason for not absorbing the charges.
The device, built in collaboration with Playtron, combines handheld gaming with built-in crypto wallet support for sui blockchain games. It also supports mainstream platforms like Steam and Epic Games Store. Marketed to early adopters, the initial production run totaled 10,000 units.
Trade tensions under former President Trump's reciprocal tariff policies appear to be contributing to the import cost surge. Mysten Labs is now working to clarify fee expectations for international customers before resuming deliveries.
